About The Author Baseerat Javed and Her Captivating Books

An author and businesswoman, Baseerat Javed drew inspiration from her lively childhood in India, bringing to life many of the stories and myths that she heard from her grandmother growing up in Hyderabad. She currently lives in Virginia with her husband, a psychiatrist, and enjoys visits from her three adult children, who are lawyers. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, running her Indian spices company, and playing with her grandchildren.

Baseerat Javed is an author who has drawn inspiration from childhood experience in India; she was greatly influenced by historical fiction books, comic books, and mystery books that she read growing up. Baseerat Javed currently lives in Virginia with her husband, who is a psychiatrist, and enjoys visits from her three adult children, who are lawyers. She enjoys gardening in her spare time along with running her Indian spices business as well as playing with her grandchildren.

I was born in India; however, I only lived there for about ten years before I left. During my time in India my grandmother told me many stories and myths that inspired me to write later in life because she was such a great storyteller. Her love for cats and stories is something that really impacted me and made me want to write. Aside from creating my own stories, I enjoy blending Indian spices to create my own spice blends, and I’m launching that as a business soon. I see myself as a creative person who lives to create different things, be it spices, stories, or gardening, making garlands for family functions, sewing, or making custom jewelry from India, both with gold and semi-precious stones. I also enjoy blending Indian perfumes and creating fragrances. I created a nice custom perfume for my son’s wedding and provided more than 250 guests with it. To this day, I get requests about it. This is how my life is: constant creativity and pursuing it in every form.
